Brennan's Reviews: Hibachi Grill Buffet

A Restaurant Review as seen through the eyes of a 5 year old, written by her mother (Because she can't really write yet.)

When my mom asks me where I want to eat, I ALWAYS choose the Chinese buffet.

She doesn't ask me very much. I don't really know why she doesn't cuz I know a LOT of things.

Like how to speak Chinese.

I like to practice it on the people who work at the buffet. Hola! That means "hello" in Chinese! I bet you didn't even know that! The girl who came to our table to bring us our drinks was VERY impressed.

My mom...not so much.

I guess she doesn't speak Chinese.

I like this place cuz I don't have to wait for my food to come to me. I don't like waiting. My mom says I have to have "patience" but I don't really like to go to the doctor's.

What I DO like to do is eat. And this place lets me get my own food that I pick myself. Sometimes my mom doesn't like me to get my own food. She thinks I am still a BABY who needs help.

Guess what! I'm not. I am very big. And I can use those pinchy things and get my OWN noodles. That's my favorite thing to eat here. Those long white noodles with EGGS in them. My mom doesn't NEVER make noodles with eggs in them.

It's probably cuz she's not Chinese.

I don't really like how there is carrots in there though. I think that there is sneaky business. Like how my mom tries to do at home with my dinner plate. But I am too smart for all that. So I am REAL careful to pick them ALL out.

I also don't eat the broccoli that comes in the chicken I like. I don't eat green things.

Ever.

Other than that, the food at this place is really good. It's so good that sometimes I need to just sneak a taste before I even get back to my chair!

My mom doesn't like when I do that.

She likes to ruin all my fun. "Use your silverware" she says. "Wait until we get to the table" she says. What kind of fun is THAT?

Not any fun. That's what.

But do you want to know what IS fun? Two words. Chop. Sticks. Did you know that Chinese people use them and not a fork? Well, since I know Chinese words, I need to know Chinese forks too.

And I like to practice using them sticks to eat my noodles. And sometimes jello too. But that is kind of hard cuz that stuff is slip-pry! I would use them to eat my ice cream too, but my mom says N-O in her mean voice when I do that. She makes me use a stupid ole SPOON. Boring!

But it's okay, cuz I REALLY like ice cream.

My mom always says I gotta eat my moneys worth when I go to the buffet.

I think my mom is silly cuz we aren't 'sposed to eat money! But I DO eat a lot of food here.

My mom says that is good cuz this place is EX-PEN-SIVE. My dad said we were gonna have to do LOTS of chores to work off this bill. I think he was just being silly though. He knows I don't like stupid chores.

There are LOTS of things that I like at this place! But want to know what I like the mostest? Fortune cookies!

When you are good and eat all your food, they bring you a cookie that has a message inside! I always make my mom read me mine.

This time my mom said that my message was REAL true. It said something about people liking me to come to their parties.

It's probably because I always pick good presents.

When we are all finished with our food, my mom always makes me tell her how many fingers I think the restaurant gets. She says 1 finger is bad and 5 fingers is I want to eat here my whole life every day.

This time I was tricky to her!

I said this restaurant gets 10 fingers. 10 super-clean-fingers. And I know they are super clean cuz I washed them in the bathroom. Even though there wasn't a stool to stand on.

I think that is kinda dumb.

But I still like this place. And you probably will too.

All opinions in these restaurant reviews are my own and given for free cuz I like to talk and tell stories. Nobody gives me any free food or moneys to tell about my 'ventures. (But if they wanted to, my ears would be listening for sure.)

Brennan Reviews: Prima Princessa presents The Nutcracker

A Movie Review as seen through the eyes of a 4 year old, written by her mother (Because she can't write. Duh.) We received a free copy of this DVD in return for our honest opinion.

When my mom told me that I was going to get a really fun princess ballerina video in the mail JUST FOR ME, I was super duper 'cited!

I really like to get things in the mail.

Especially princess things. And ballet things.

When the DVD came, I couldn't wait to rip that sucker open. And I wanted to watch it straight away! Mom told me that it was a very special dancing movie that I could dance right along with. So, of course, I had to get my ballerina stuffs on! That took a while cuz I could only find ONE ballet slipper and you can't be a ballerina without your ballet slippers! I don't know why them dumb things are always coming up missing. Mom says its cuz I play in my ballet bag all the time, but what does she even know anyway?! I can't help it that I like to be a ballerina ALL the time, and not just for my Saturday morning ballet class. Maybe if she put on ballet slippers, she would want to be one all the time too! Note to self: buy mom some ballet stuffs for Christmas.

Once I got my favorite fluffy tutu on (it's the white one with pretty gold shiny things on it) and found my silly ballet slippers, I got right down to business. Mom put that video in the DVD player and I settled in to see what this business was gonna be all about.

I couldn't believe it! It was a movie all about real-live ballerinas! There was this really cute little fairy princess who told me all kinds of things about what the ballerinas were doing. And there was this little Nutcracker toy that came. to. life. Can you even believe that? Then that mean boy tried to break it! I am real glad that my brother is way bigger than me and doesn't touch my toys. That girl needed to give that boy a big talkin' to! (That's what my mom does when she is mad!)

Then came my FAVORITE part of the whole movie, the part where you get to dance with the ballerinas! The little fairy princess takes you to a ballet school with lots of little kids.

When I saw all them ballerinas, I had to make my mom pause that movie so that I could go get my hair done like a REAL ballerina! Ballerinas don't have BRAIDS. Duh.

My mom really needs to learn these things.

After I got her to put my hair up in a bun like real ballerinas do, I got down to business.

I take my dancin' REAL serious.

And this movie showed me how to do all kinds of dancin' moves! And it even taught me the really strange words that the ballerinas call them moves, too! I tried to say some of them words and that made me laugh. They use funny words for their moves.

I really, really liked watching this movie. My favorite parts were the parts where I got to get up and do some dancing with the ballerinas.

That was exciting!

I give this movie a 5/5 "Jazz hands" Finger Rating. It was lots of fun. I can't even WAIT to watch it again! I think that ALL little ballerinas like me need to watch this movie. They will like to do all that dancin' like I did.

And I think my mom gives it 5 fingers too.

She was pretty excited about how tired out I was when I was done with all them cool moves. (I don't even know why she gets all 'cited when I am sleepy. That is kinda dumb. No one even likes takin' naps.)

You should go visit Prima Princessa on their website (www.primaprincessa.com) right. now. There are lots of fun things to do there. My mom let me play games on the preschool games part and there was a part full of fun craft ideas and yummy treats to make too! And you can buy these videos (Yeah, there are more than one! You can also get Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty.) They would make really great gifts.

Prima Princessa is also on Pinterest.

Brennan's Reviews: Steak 'n Shake Restaurant

A Restaurant Review as seen through the eyes of a 4 year old, written by her mother (Because she can't write. Duh.)

Well, here it is! The moment you ALL have been waiting for....that time when I tell you ALL about my restaurant adventures! This time my parents took me (and my brother and sisters, too!) to Steak 'n Shake, which made me pretty excited! I LOVE that place. I love it SO much that I was even willing to jump out of the bathtub in order to go there. And that is BIG. I really, really LOVE my baths. I take about 10 every single day. Or as many as I can whine my way into convince my mom I neeeeeed!

But, anyway, back to my review!

It was lunchtime. So my belly was pretty hungry. But this place is good because they give you all the things to do while you wait for your foods to come out! I had papers to color, and cars to build, and STICKERS! I LOVE stickers! AND they give you these pretty neat hats to wear! I ALWAYS wear mine!

And my dad likes to wear one too. *giggle* He's silly.

The order lady came and asked me what I wanted to eat RIGHT AWAY and I said "corndogs and fries" (I like to order ALL. By. Myself. On account of how I am NOT a baby anymore!)

And I got lemons for my water. Cuz that is how my mom does it and I like to do things like my mom does it! Oh that makes me think of something funny! When my mom's water came out hers had a rotten lemon in it and when she was trying to get it out, she spilled her water ALL over the place! Ha! It was pretty funny! Then my dad got kinda irritated. (He gets like that at ME sometimes too! Then I have to tell my mom about how he is all irritated.) But I didn't tell her this time cuz I was too busy laughin' at her.

And then it took a REAL long time for our order lady to come around to give her some napkins, so we all had to give her ours and she STILL got water on her shirt! Hehehe! THAT was FUNNY! And then when she told the order lady about her rotten lemon that lady got mouthy with my momma! I know she was mouthy cuz my mom got that SAME look she gets when I get mouthy! Then my mom told that lady she KNOWS what a rotten lemon looks like! Bwhahaha! My mom REALLY was makin' me laugh today! I don't think dad thought it was as funny as I did. He got that irritated face again.

Poor, irritated guy.

Then that lady brought new water. And new lemons. And she told my momma she was REAL sorry. (My momma said that she probably heard her say all that mean stuffs about her to my dad.) Then my momma was happy again and I got back to colorin'.

I don't think my big sister was so happy about comin' as I was, though. Cuz my mom was tryin' to take pictures and she wouldn't even operate. (I think that is the word mom used. When you don't do what mom wants and she gets all testy and stuff...)

And she wasn't even using all the cool things they give you to do while you are waitin' for your food to come out! Dad says it's cuz she thinks she's too grown up now. Too grown up? Ha! Who wants to be all growed up??!

My sister. That's who. She's moody. (I heard my mom say that a'fore)

And guess what?! Then our food came! I was super excited to get my corndogs! I really like it how the ketchup is RIGHT there where I can grab it! I like LOTS of ketchup! My dad doesn't even know that I can do my OWN ketchup. But I did! (He kept telling me it was enough, but he doesn't even KNOW what ENOUGH IS! Silly, daddy!)

I got JUST the RIGHT amount!

And then you will NEVER guess what song came on the radio there! LET. IT. GO. (My mom's FAVORITE!) And I had to stop eating and sing it loud enough for EVERYONE to hear it! I sure do LOVE that song! I don't think my dad likes it too much, though, cuz he kept tellin' me to quiet down and just eat my lunch. He's weird. Who doesn't like me singing REAL loud?

I was soooo hungry that I ate ALL my food. It was super good. I like corndogs. 'Specially with ketchup.

Overall, I give this place a 5 out of of 5 questionably clean fingers rating! On account of the hats. And the cool cars you can build and take home with you. I like that. And the crayons. AND the yummy corndogs with LOTS of ketchup. This place is REAL good for my tummy! (I don't care WHAT my mom says....I don't need vegetables to help me poop!)

I hope I get to go back again soon. So I can show mom and dad how good I am at doing my OWN ketchup.

I don't think they believed me.

Brennan's Reviews: The Cracker Barrel Restaurant

A Restaurant Review as seen through the eyes of a 4 year old, written by her mother (Because she can't write. Duh.)

I was hungry. Very hungry. You see, I decided I didn't really WANT to eat the food my Great Grandma offered me today when mom was working.

Well, ACTUALLY, I take that back! I DID enjoy a LOT of popcorn at the movie theater, but that doesn't count. Aren't Great Grandmas great? My mom would have NEVER let me eat all that popcorn after wasting all my lunch! WAIT....Where was I?

Oh yeah....hungry.

Mom said we were going to go out to eat after we dropped my sisters off at church. I REALLY hoped it was Culver's...(that place is FANCY!), but mom said we were going someplace with a "barrel" in the name (don't ask me what because I can never remember the name of that place!). Huh. I was stumped. I had never even HEARD of that place 'fore. But okay.... I was willing to give it a shot!

I was REALLY hungry.

Upon arriving, I informed my mom that this restaurant looked like an OLD PEOPLE place. I mean, there were rocking chairs EVERYWHERE. That is where OLD people like to sit and stuff. And I wasn't sure it was gonna be good like Culver's...

Then my dad opened the restaurant door and I was like.... WHOA! Nobody even told me it was like a kid in a candy store in there! (I heard my mom say that 'fore. Ha!) There was stuffs EVERYWHERE! My mom looked a little upset when I tried to touch it all. But isn't that what stuffs is for?!

She seemed pretty relieved when we didn't have to wait to get a table.

I was kinda disappointed. I wasn't really done looking at all that cool stuffs!

But then we went past cool tables with CHECKERS! (I don't really know HOW to PLAY checkers, but my sisters play it and won't let me help, so I KNOW it must be SUPER COOL!) And I wanted to sit there and play since my sisters weren't there to tell me "NO!", but mom made me go to the table.

I didn't think that was very nice. And then she handed me the coloring paper and told me to pick out what I wanted to eat....I picked a cheeseburger. But then I changed my mind cuz I saw chicken fingers and they looked GOOD! So then I picked them.

Mom couldn't decide what she wanted to eat, and so I was getting a little bit bored. I couldn't stop thinking about them CHECKERS. And so I just kept asking if I could go over and see them again. But mom, was all mean and stuffs. She kept saying "no" and telling me to color.

 But I didn't WANT to.

And I was HUNGRY. So I started to whine. (Cuz I know that is how to get moms attention ALL on me and what I want! I'm no dummy!) And I WAS pretty upset cuz I couldn't color the picture that daddy drew for me the way I WANTED to cuz I didn't have the right colors and mommy wasn't really being very helpful. It was a good thing that baby behind me started crying. Cuz then I forgot ALL about my troubles and turned around to stare at THAT kid. Man, that baby sure was MAD. Dad said something to mom about not feeling so bad about ME acting bad cuz we were sitting by other kids who was actin' up too. I am not sure what THAT was s'posed to mean, but I was distracted when our food came, so I couldn't even ask her!

My food looked good. But it was WAY. TOO. HOT. So mom ripped my chicken apart to "cool off" and I didn't really 'preciate that! I like my chicken WHOLE. Cuz I am NOT a baby anymore! Why does she ALWAYS gotta treat me like a BA-BY?! And then she made my ketchup and A-1 TOUCH each other on my plate! WHO DOES THAT?!

My mom. That's who.

And when I tried to tell her about it....she got mad. Can you believe that? She sure did. Then she told me we were gonna have to go to the bathroom and I KNEW it wasn't cuz I had to go pee cuz I already did that in my pants when we were trying to leave my grandma's house!

So I decided I better just eat my chicken and not say no more words. She'd had ENOUGH. (I know that cuz she told me so.)

The chicken was kind of spicy. And so was my A-1. Daddy was pretty happy about that A-1, though! He told my mom ALL about it! He didn't like that generic, bad stuffs my mom had been buyin', then mom said something about cheap toilet paper and daddy said he was sorry for that and wasn't gonna do that NO. MORE. And then I saw that I had SUPER BIG french fries on my plate so I stopped listenin' to all that boring grown-up talk.

I ate ALL my food! Well, not the ends of the chicken strips cuz those were real hard and I don't like my food real hard! So those don't count! And guess what?! I even tasted them broccoli trees on my moms plate! She was real proud of that! (I know cuz she told me ALL about it and how it would help me poop. Ha! She said poop at the restaurant table!) And since I ate ALL my food AND I stopped being a whiner, she even let me sit at the checkers table! But she didn't let me play. She just wanted to take my picture. Probably for her BLOG. (Cuz she is ALWAYS takin' pictures for whatever that "blog" thing is...)

Then we got to go back through that AWESOME toy place/store! I wanted to touch ALL. THE. THINGS! But mom said NO TOUCHING, just LOOK with your EYES. And what's the fun in THAT? So when she wasn't lookin' real close, I touched all kind of stuffs! She was in a big hurry for some reason, though, and was pretty much DRAGGIN' me outta there!

Then I saw it! You will never even BELIEVE what I saw! It was a GIANT checker board! I just HAD to go and see it up close! Mom let me sit there for another picture. WHAT IS IT WITH THIS LADY AND HER CAMERA?

Can't a girl just play some CHECKERS?!

All in all, I give this restaurant 4 out of 5 questionably clean fingers. On account of all the CHECKERS! And that my food was yummy, my fries were HUGE, and there were toys EVERYWHERE! The only thing I didn't like was that my chickens were spicy and hard on the ends. And that mom wouldn't let me stare at that poor kid who was giving a BIG FUSS...

I hope that mom and dad take me back there real soon.

I didn't get to touch all the things...
